McCain Loses It: Calls Americans ‘My Fellow Prisoners’
Posted on October 10th, 2008 by thejedreport -

This is the kind of mental mixup that really makes you wonder what is truly going on inside of John McCain’s mind. Here he is, campaigning in Pennsylvania, accidentally calling Americans “my fellow prisoners.”

McCain was talking about his domestic policies, and clearly meant to say “Americans” or “countrymen” or somesuch.

HuffPo’s Sam Stein has more.

Maybe there's a grain of truth to what he says; under the conservative regimes of the past quarter century, America really has come to resemble a prison camp!

    LOL!

How could anyone who spent that much time as a prison of war come out mentally all right, anyway?
Having worked with Vietnam Vets, I have to think that his experience in the war has had a profound impact on his mental health. Does he want to continue this war because it's right for America, or because he can't cope with the disappointment of his past?

There ought to be a mandatory psychological evaluation for presidential candidates.

Please do not point to McCain's history as a former POW as a reason questioning his sanity. This does a great disservice to all the men and women who serve even now. McCain went through hell in Vietnam, and although I do not support him for President, I greatly honor the man for the service he has given to his country, both in the military and in politics. The Karl Rove machine smeared him in South Carolina in 2008 and handed the Republican nomination to George Bush, and I, for one, will not stand him being smeared again. Sarah Palin has destroyed the integrity of McCain's campaign with her smear tactics and red herrings, encouraging crowds who shout out "Terrorist!" and "Kill him!" in reference to Obama. It would be a blessing to McCain if he lost this election. If he wins, he'll spend the rest of his life knowing that he sold out to very people who smeared him in 2000. He'll know they have won, and he'll know they own him. They'll know, too. He would have been much better off if he hadn't named a running mate who apparently learned her political strategies from Adolf Hitler.
